Built on the Glock 45 platform, the GGSP is a crossover design that combines a compact sleeve with a full-size frame. The barrel is 4.02 inches long, while the full-size frame holds a 17-round magazine. In addition, the gun includes all the upgrades of the Glock Gen5. A notable feature of the GGSP is the milled sleeve that allows the reception of Micro Red Dots (MRD). The pistol also features front and rear sliding serrations, as well as double-sided sliding stop levers and a single-sided magazine release.

Atop the milled slide is a Holosun HE509T-RD X2 MRD with the optic mounted directly to the slide rather than using an adapter plate – a feature Glock previously offered only on law enforcement and military firearms. Holosun optics are made with a titanium housing and use the company's Super LED technology to provide up to 50,000 hours of battery life. Additional features of the MRD include a multi-grid system, solar fail-safe, and shock-wake technology. Additionally, a set of Ameriglo sights is mounted on the sleeve at the height of the silencer and can be seen with the mounted optic.
Additional features of the Gunsite Glock service pistol include a factory Glock "minus connector" that reduces the trigger to 4.5 pounds. Additionally, the pistol features the round magazine release used by the FBI on their firearms, as well as the lanyard loop. The top face of each GGSP slide is engraved with Gunsite's logo and iconic crow image, and each gun receives a unique "API" serial number, reminiscent of Lt. Col.
