The MCAS Cherry Point all-weather jet base provides the United States with a combat-ready airstrike force. The 2nd Naval Aviation Wing, Eastern Fleet Readiness Center, Naval Aviation Technical Training Center, Marine Corps, and the 21st Combat Logistics Squadron are stationed there.

Drill Helps Emergency Responders Hone Their Skills
MCAS Cherry Point is located in eastern North Carolina. His base is in the town of Havelock in Craven County. The base is only 20 miles from the Crystal Coast and the beautiful Atlantic coast. To the north of the base is the Noyce River, to the south is the city of Newport, to the southwest is Jacksonville, and to the northeast is Cape Hatteras at the foot of the Outer Banks.

After-hours employees may obtain after-hours reporting rights from the commanding officer at the Christian F. Schilt building. Employees report to IPAC the next business day for formal approval and audit.
Marines residing in Temporary Enlisted Quarters will have access to transportation to IPAC. You must have your gear ready by 7:15 AM so it can be picked up by an IPAC operator in front of the check-in window. If you are not picked up by 7:45 am, please call 1 (252) 466-6756.

The town of Havelock is home to MCAS Cherry Point and provides residents a short drive to the base. The city has a population of about 20,000. Havelock offers residents a variety of outdoor activities. Explore the Croatan National Forest, which covers 160,000 hectares of pine forests, saltwater estuaries, wetlands and raised wetlands. Forests offer opportunities for camping, fishing, hiking, hunting, water activities and more. More outdoor adventures in the city park. MCAS Cherry Point is less than 20 miles south of the city of New Bern. The city has a population of about 30,000.
